I was invited to speak as an author at a Retired Teachers Group in Machias Maine. It was a very special moment for me being in my home state of Maine, and talking about our greatest pollinator-- the honeybee.
Looks like the fist meeting at the Good Zoo went very well; it must have been fun. I just wrote a long note and then dumped it in the preview mode; now I'm out of gas. I'll send a note another day. Thanks to the folks that bought my hives during the move.
All, This forum is a great tool for all members to share ideas and keep the dialogue rolling after our meetings. It is time to do some training at a meeting to bring members up to speed on this powerful tool.
Sample posts: Does anyone have an extra queen excluder? When should I add a super? How do I make syrup? Or you can post your fantastic ideas for everyone to enjoy!
I just finished my order for everything I need for a complete hive. I looked through all of the catalogues that have been circulating at the recent meetings, and after comparing prices, etc., I finally decided to order everything through Brushy Mountain Bee Farm. One thing I liked about Brushy Mountain was that I could place the order online, although I had to go through the catalogue first and write down everything I wanted.
